*Know and sell your transferrable skills. Identify your skills that could be put to use in the industry you are targeting; then cite examples of how you’ve used them to the benefit of past employers.

*Develop your selling proposition. This is a brief statement of the benefits you can bring to an employer – the more specific, the better.
